Sadly you're about 4 years too late. I did dig out JO again a few months ago after 4 years in the garage, but unfortunatly I couldn't get back in to it. It will, however, live on in my memory as the best team game I ever played.

I've dug up JO couple of times. Played it couple of weeks back, was fun.
But never really was interested in the whole IC thing. Needs to much dedication to get in there, and stuff like that.

Or are you referring to something new?
If so can you add some info, maybe a link or something like that.

IC now will take anyone they can. Spoke to one of the leaders about two weeks ago and you only have to tell them you want to play. No practise or anything like that anymore.

Well when I've checked on a sunday evening there hasn't been more than 30-40 playing it. Think it reflects how many different people that are still playing JO. Many of those have two or more accounts so it might look like there are more active, when it's the same players.
But, and here some might dispute it, I also heard reasons why people won't join the IC. They are not all that happy about the leaders of it, like the fact they let cheaters play it, or not treating all players according to their own rules. All hear say of course as I'm not playing it. But that was about at the end of last year someone told me, so maybe things have picked up since then. I only played one match in it, and I liked the idea of trainings and staying together as a squad, for a certain task (we won of course, my squad had a very happy leader as it was a long time since he did and got some kind of ribbon :D ) But when I saw that they wanted us to train on friday and saturday evenings (because our leaders were mostly americans) I lost interest in it.
What I meant about they take anyone was that they should know you before that of course, like having seen you play in game.

the tournament did die down a little bid towards end of last year, but if you look now on Sundyas we are hittin 80+ players again en still growing, the armies at the minute have got a roster of 65-70 each so you can imagine the intense battles were currently having

I know people say that this game is old and thats why i think the tournament is the best option - in reply to the above reply from skimpy, no we dont allow hackers/cheaters in the tournament, if they get spotted by anyone and the admins are informed, they get booted out and and hackin is reported to Nova, we have contact with the nova admins that do this for us. We have always strongly believed that the way the tournament is handled and done is the way the game was meant to be played, the teamwork we get on a sunday to do the battles is beyond belief.

We have never said that YOU MUST come do this and that, obviously real life comes first, as at the end of the day, its just a game, but ye if you can spare a hour or so during the week to look at the battle maps for that sunday, then brilliant, if not do it when you can. Our server we play on during the battles is the only dedicated 250 man server of Nova, we got special server keys from nova to run it

So, if anyone is still interested after my babbling on, visit the site: http://tournaments.myinternetservices.c ... l-conflict

or pop on to our TS server:

Teamspeak 3: 64.34.212.191:9991 there is no password

Look for the Recruitment Tent channel for UPF, you will see me sat there all day and we can discuss it in more details
